Fujitsu Limited revealed that it has developed the new MHY2 BS Series of 2.5" hard disk drives (HDD), which are designed for 24-hour continuous operation and are available with storage capacities of up to 200 GB(1). This new series will go on sale by end of August.
This HDD can prove to be extremely valuable when implemented for the use of industrial equipments, such as ATMs, POS systems, and medical equipment, or enterprise applications.
When asked how this new technology will benefit textile industry, reliable source told Fibre2fashion, “Although the HDD may not directly affect textile industry, it should provide in-direct impact if it is incorporated in factory automation systems. This will definitely enhance entire performance and increase efficiency the system.”
The source further explained, “This HDD is designed to withstand 24x7 operations, and targeted for industrial applications such as Factory Automation systems, surveillance cameras, industrial PCs, POS/ATM and robotic applications. We believe this HDD will be an ideal solution for systems in factory that operates in a 24x7 environment.”
