Annie Sherburne (Eco Annie) launched her new shop at Oxo Tower Wharf. She sells sustainable yarn, designer rugs, scarves and bags.
Eco Annie uses textile waste from London and recycles it in to yarns which are used by knitters and weavers. This recycled yarn is even used in production of her own rugs.
According to sources, opening of new shop will encourage use of recycled yarn in textile designs and sustainable clothing and develop local production capacity of textiles. The wool is made from 50 percent organic UK wool and rest is recycled London textile.
Incidentaly, she has even received a £6,000 grant from the London Development Agency's (LDA) to make the first recycled yarn.
