Spinning yarn output for October slightly increased over the previous month. According to data provided by National Bureau of Statistics, national spinning yarn output touched nearly 1.74 million tons in October, up 1.12 percent over September and 13.94 percent over the same time last year.
In these 10 months, total yarn output reached around 16.19 million tons, representing an increase of 16.62 percent over the same time last year, but 4 percent lower than last year.
In this cotton year, which lies from September 2006 to October 2007, total spinning yarn output was about 3.46 million tons, up 11.69 percent. However, more than 50 percent decline in growth rate can be seen compared to the same period previous year.
According to customs statistic details, in October 2007, China's exports of textiles and garments reached $14.891 billion, a drop of 15.79 percent from the previous month, but marked an increase of 20.53 percent over the same month last year.
In the first 10 months, China's exports of textile and apparel were $141.545 billion, soaring 20 percent from the same period last year.
