India Market Days kicks off at Apparel House

20th edition of India Market Days was inaugurated on 23rd January 2014, at Apparel House, Gurgaon by Shri H K L Magu, Chairman (F & B), Shri Pritam Goel, EC member and Shri Puneet Kumar, Secretary General, AEPC, in the presence of international buyers, participants and AEPC officials. 

Speaking on this occasion Chairman (F & B), Shri H K L Magu said, “India Market days  provides an opportunity to analyze and choose, from the wide spectrum of existing and emerging products at one place, analyze prevailing rates in the market, finalise bulk requirements and negotiate best rates for bulk orders. This event will help the garment exporters find the right partners for their business.” 

Shri Punnet Kumar in his address welcomed the buyers and said,” India Market Days is the third in series of fairs held during this week in January 2014 after Tex Trends and Source Zone; the idea is to synergize the efforts and leverage it to the maximum potential for garment exports growth.”

India Market Days is a project approved by Ministry of Textiles and is funded under the Market Access Initiative (MAI) Scheme of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India for inviting overseas buyers and buying agents under reverse BSM and three such events are organised by AEPC. Over and above funded by AEPC, the January and July month events of India Market Days are organized by AEPC out of its own funds with a view to use the synergy of the other fairs to optimize gains for Apparel Industry.

Chairman Exports Promotion, Shri Sudhir Sekhri, conveyed his best wishes, in his statement stated that, “AEPC by organizing India Market Days, is once again ready to provide an opportunity and a platform where wonderful products are displayed in the showrooms.  Buyers’ may like to avail this opportunity to choose from the wide spectrum of products at one place.

This Fair will help you develop your creative collection and augment your resources.”  We have good design and raw material strengths and our business is based on exceptional customer service, respect and integrity in the pursuit of mutually profitable outcome, he added.

Shri Pritam Goel, EC member, at AEPC lauded the efforts made to help the domestic exporters and the state of art exhibition halls that Apparel house provides to its users. He informed that, “It is good news that from the last seven months garment exports are registering robust growth, buyers across the world are seeing India as a dependable country for sourcing the garments.

"I am sure India Market Days will be useful for both buyers and sellers in growing their own business. I welcome all buyers who have come cutting across different regions and countries. The synergistic efforts of all the garment exporters and the Government have resulted in the average export growth of around 16% in the last two quarters in this fiscal by garment sector.”
