YKK USA starts solutions group to improve manufacturing

YKK USA has announced the launch of its new solutions group to help companies improve manufacturing efficiency, processes and develop new products. With integrated production and supply systems in 72 countries, YKK is positioned to meet the needs of the textile and sewing product industries, as they increasingly diversify and require shorter product cycles.
The solutions group was created to help manufacturers struggling with issues such as time-consuming manual processes, high scrap rate and wasted material, inconsistent quality, high inventory, multiple suppliers, and rising production costs. The group will provide consultation on new product development and manufacturing process improvement, custom machinery and assembly service, the company said in a media statement.
While the solutions group is new, YKK USA has been engaging in manufacturing process improvement for customers through its field technology centres since 1978.
“The YKK brand is synonymous with quality and innovation. YKK has long been a trusted partner in providing high-quality products that solve our customers’ problems. Eighty-six years of experience manufacturing zippers, and other fastening products means that we have an enormous amount of know-how regarding sewing operations, waste reduction and process improvement. We are asking those who have turned to YKK for quality products to now seek our expertise on improving their efficiency and reducing scrap and inventory,” John Smith, president, YKK USA said.
YKK’s technical support network is located across the US, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America. In addition to increased productivity and reduced inventory, YKK solutions group customers can expect improved ergonomics for their employees and a more sustainable operation as waste and energy are reduced.
