Indian company Sewtech Fashion Limited, a sister concern of the country’s apparel manufacturer Shahi Exports Pvt Ltd, will invest $9.26 million in the Chattogram Export Processing Zone in Bangladesh. An agreement regarding this was signed recently by company director Balagi Pavadai and Mohammad Faruque Alam, member (engineering) of the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) in Dhaka.

The company will make about 3.36 million pieces of woven tops and create 3,393 jobs, BEPZA said in a press release.

BEPZA said it is receiving investment proposals from local and foreign investors despite the pandemic.
