Clinch Gear, the leading performance training apparel brand, announced its multi-year endorsement agreement with standout linebacker A.J. Hawk of the Green Bay Packers.

Hawk will represent Clinch Gear's growing line of performance training apparel, which includes the world's leading Performance Training Shorts as well as technical compression and loose-fit Performance Shirts, compression shorts and compression briefs. Clinch Gear will also introduce A.J. Hawk signature products in 2012. The match was made by Conor Sammartin of Priority Sports & Entertainment.

"We are excited and honored to welcome A.J. to our roster of world-class athletes," said Bruce Pettet, CEO of Collective Licensing International, the company that owns the Clinch Gear brand. "The fact that an NFL athlete of A.J.'s caliber recognizes the functional advantages of our products highlights Clinch Gear's appeal to training enthusiasts worldwide."

A two-time, All-American linebacker at Ohio State, Hawk was drafted by Green Bay in the first round (fifth overall pick) of the 2006 NFL draft. Hawk has never missed a game for the reigning Super Bowl champions, starting 77 of 80 regular season contests in his five-year career. The Ohio native has either led the team or finished second in tackles in each season.

"I am thrilled to join the Clinch Gear family," Hawk said. "The brand makes the best performance gear on the market, giving me what I need to succeed in our intense strength and conditioning training. The first time I wore the brand's Performance Training Shorts. I was amazed by how light, flexible and durable they are and how comfortably they fit."

Founded in Southern California in 2003, Clinch Gear is the leading manufacturer of performance sports apparel for athletes and training enthusiasts, with a rich history in amateur wrestling and mixed martial arts.

In fact, Clinch Gear is the fastest-growing brand in amateur wrestling, establishing Performance Training Shorts as a viable product category in that sport and manufacturing stock and custom-sublimated wrestling singlets. Clinch Gear has outfitted some of the nation's top universities, high schools and clubs.

Clinch Gear's roster of elite athletes includes the legendary Herschel Walker; famed MMA world champion and two-time U.S. Greco Roman wrestling Olympian Dan Henderson; Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion Clark Gracie; two-time NCAA wrestling champion, U.S. Open Freestyle National champion and U.S. World Freestyle Team member Jake Varner; and former Greco Roman wrestling world champion and current MMA world champion Joe Warren.
