This coming year's prom dresses for spring 2012 feature a number of distinct styles, from classic to modern to soft and sexy. Traditional, long prom dresses are still prevalent, but are offset by a number of shorter styles. Fabrics used in prom dresses 2012 range from soft and classy to textured and vibrant. Grecian-style, chiffon drapes abound. Fabrics are dyed a rainbow of colors, from pastels to bold reds and corals, to jewel tones and metallics. Solid colors are popular, but there are still a number of animal prints, floral prints and geometric designs. Black is commonly combined with white or silver for the ultimate in sophistication.
