Irish Kartel debuting its first US collection for men

On the heels of announcing its ambitious expansion plan into the American golf apparel market, leading Irish golf clothing label Kartel is debuting its first U.S. collection for men with the launch of its Spring/Summer 2012 line, featuring a diverse selection of golf shirts, sweaters, jackets, rain suits and accessories.
Renowned for exquisite European styling, fashionable use of color and superior fabrications, the Spring/Summer 2012 Men's collection of golf apparel is infused with innovative technology, precise detailing and unmatched functionality, including UV protection and moisture wicking qualities, all designed to keep golfers cool, dry and comfortable throughout their round.
Highlighting the 2012 collection is the G2 Golf Rain Suit, co-designed by three-time major winner, Padraig Harrington. This jacket and pants set is made of waterproof gelanots, providing superior protection against wind and rain, while also maintaining breathability for the ultimate in comfort.
Other features of the jacket include: removable, zip out sleeves at the elbow; air flap panel on the chest to improve air circulation; action shoulder pleats on the back of the jacket; drawstrings to tighten jacket around upper waist; and front zip pockets. The pants feature a side zip pocket; concealed zippered opening panel at the ankle; and an angled Velcro bottom strap to guide rain over the golf shoe.

The Spring/Summer 2012 Men's collection also includes three new styles of performance polo shirts which are made from polyester absorbtec fabric, which is highly breathable and designed to draw moisture away from the body, providing optimum comfort and performance. Additionally, these performance polos provide protection against UVA and UVB rays and feature anti-microbial properties which facilitate odor management.
The new performance polos include:
• the Ibis, featuring horizontal stripes in three color stories, including Current, Graphite and Skipper;
• the Eagle, also in horizontal stripes with four vibrant options, including Baltic, Current, Fuschia and Skipper;
• and the Crane, a more classic, horizontal striped polo in Graphite, Navy and White.
