ZACHARY PRELL announces new categories

Zachary was inspired early on by his grandfather Irving Prell, an entrepreneur who built his own pharmacy business by carving out a niche among the giant chains and warmly connecting with his customers.

Feeling similarly inspired to chart his own path and frustrated with the fit of his everyday shirts, Zachary made a gutsy decision to leave his career as a successful investment banker in New York City and pursue his dream of starting his own clothing line

Zachary recognized an opportunity to re-define men's sport shirts with an emphasis on exceptional fit and unmatched attention to detailing. Armed only with a vision of something better and a relentless determination to make it happen, Zachary set out to develop the ideal men's sport shirt from scratch. He started by rethinking almost everything: the cuffs, collar, shirt tail length, and paid specific attention to the fit.

He accomplished all of this out of his 500 square foot Manhattan apartment with no formal training, no fashion industry connections and no deep-pocketed investors. Nevertheless, the line quickly sold out among friends and family. With his heavily funded competition introducing new products and categories at lightning speed the stakes became even higher for Zachary.

Unfazed, Zachary traveled tirelessly across the U.S. personally connecting with clients and working alongside sales teams at partner stores to build the brand. He also tapped his Columbia Business School network to ensure he found the most skilled team to craft his vision and turn what was once a dream into a reality.

In what has become a tradition, shirt styles are named in honor of family, friends, advisors and colleagues to thank them for their support. The IRVING, named after Zachary's grandfather, was the brand's very first shirt and sold out during ZACHARY PRELL's first season.

ZACHARY PRELL is sold in over 250 stores throughout the U.S., including Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and leading specialty retailers across the U.S such as Lisa Kline in Los Angeles, Mario's in Seattle and Boyds in Philadelphia. Even with the continued growth and success of the brand, Zachary remains true to his original vision, stays humble and truly embodies the entrepreneurial spirit.
