Swimco gains in size with buyout of Swimwear Etc

For Lori, quality of operations has always taken precedence over addition of new stores. Since she considers the salespeople to be the 'living brand' of Swimco, the company has been careful to expand only as fast as they could develop the right people to manage new stores. Expansion without the right structure of people in place would compromise the customer experience and diminish the reputation of excellent service that Swimco has built over the years.

The Swimwear Etc acquisition is in synch with this philosophy, as the Swimwear Etc people share many core values with Swimco, with a focus on customer service. The acquisition comes after significant developments were made to Swimco's infrastructure and back-end systems, to support the increased number of stores and people.

In Summer 2011, Lori was recognized as one of Business in Calgary Magazine's Leaders of Tomorrow. In addition, Lori was chosen amongst hundreds of nominees as one of two Canadian recipients of the 2010 Enterprising Women Magazine's Enterprising Woman of the Year award. Swimco was honored as the 2008 recipient of the City of Calgary's Community Achievement in Commerce award.
