Organic Fashion Izmir to be held in April

Turkey's most exclusive trade event Ecology Izmir 2012 – Organic Products Fair & OFI will be arranged from April 12 – 15, 2012 at Izmir International Fair Center. The Fair is being held in cooperation between IZFAS – Izmir Fair, ASDF Fair Organization and ETO (Ecological Agriculture Organization Association) and Association EGSD (Aegean Clothing Manufacturers' Association).
This year OFI event will be realized together with Ecology Fair like Biofach Fair. There will be a separate hall for textile and ready made garment sector.
Last year EGSD organized OFI – Organic Fashion Izmir project in conjunction with , a seminar called 'Sustainable Business Opportunities for The Turkish Textile Industry' which organized by Textile Exchange.
Aegean Clothing Manufacturers' Association (EGSD) is proud to be organizing a fair, after OFI - Organic Fashion Izmir Marketplace. Turkish companies who produce organic menswear, womanswear, childrenswear, baby garments, hometextiles and fabrics will display their products in their booths.
The International Buyer Program of Izmir Fair gives the international buyers fruitful opportunities to expand business globally. Every year hundreds of qualified foreign buyers and business partners meet the exhibitors in Izmir fairs.
Turkey is one of the world's major cotton manufacturers. Turkey's aim is to lead the world market with the high class articles. Turkish organic cotton is very qualified and the main supplier of organic cotton with a share of 40 % in Turkey.
Izmir is the third largest city in Turkey and plays an important role in the Aegean Region's economy. In 2011, 110-120 million US dollars export realised in a month in the Aegean region. This sector is also has the highest rate in export and has the highest rate of employment, among the other sectors.
Aegean Clothing Manufacturers' Association has created OFI – Organic Fashion Izmir Project. The aim of this Project is to match the Turkish producers with the foreign buyers which interested organic life style.
There will be also a Conference this year which is: International Conference on the Organic Sector Development in Central / Eastern European and Central Asian Countries. The Conference will be held in the framework of Ecology Izmir 2012. It will be supported by IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements). IZFAS – Izmir Fair, ASDF Fair Organization, ETO (Ecological Agriculture Organization Association) and Organic Services GmbH, Germany will co-organize the Conference.
Aegean Clothing Manufacturers' Association (EGSD) was established by active 90 leader firms of Aegean Region related with the Clothing industry in 1992 . EGSD's first aim is to create a strong identity by collecting the companies around the same structure through the sector.
