The garment exports from the province of Alto Parana accounted for 32.69 percent of all garment exports from Paraguay in 2011, according to a latest report from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Government of Alto Parana.

The share of Alto Parana in Paraguay's apparel exports has been rising since 2008, which increased to 25.2 percent in 2010.

The significantly higher apparel export growth rate in Alto Parana compared to other provinces in Paraguay is an indicator that the garment sector in Alto Parana has already consolidated, said Andino Nelson Amarilla, the Minister of Industry and Commerce.

He added that the existing trend of continuous growth in apparel sector in the province makes Alto Parana a leading region in Paraguay's textile and apparel industry.

Global Apparel, Cotton Quality International Inc, Paraguay Vantex SA and MMKM SA are among the list of top 20 companies in terms of exports.
