Neiman Marcus Inc. reported financial results for the third quarter of fiscal year 2012. For the 13 weeks ended April 28, 2012, the Company reported total revenues of $1.06 billion compared to $983.8 million in the prior year.
Comparable revenues increased 6.7 percent. Operating earnings for the third quarter of fiscal year 2012 were $146.6 million compared to $123.2 million for the third quarter of fiscal year 2011, an increase of 19 percent.
The Company reported net earnings of $62.6 million for the 13 weeks ended April 28, 2012 compared to $46.2 million in the prior year, an increase of 35 percent. EBITDA for the third quarter of fiscal year 2012 was $191.2 million compared to EBITDA of $169.9 million in the third quarter of fiscal year 2011, an increase of 13 percent.
For the 39 weeks ended April 28, 2012, the Company reported total revenues of $3.34 billion compared to $3.08 billion in the prior year. Comparable revenues increased 7.9 percent.
The Company recorded operating earnings for the 39 weeks ended April 28, 2012 of $378.1 million compared to $312.3 million for the comparable period a year ago, an increase of 21 percent.
The Company reported net earnings of $151.1 million for the 39 weeks ended April 28, 2012 compared to $93.0 million in the prior year, an increase of 63 percent.
EBITDA for the 39 weeks ended April 28, 2012 was $511.9 million compared to EBITDA of $457.2 million for the 39 weeks ended April 30, 2011, an increase of 12 percent.
The Neiman Marcus Group Inc. operations include the Specialty Retail Stores segment and the Direct Marketing Segment. The Specialty Retail Stores segment consists primarily of Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman stores. The Direct Marketing segment conducts both print catalog and online operations under the Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and Horchow brand names.
