Persnickety Clothing Company, a leading designer and manufacturer of boutique girls clothing, today announced that it has received the prestigious "Top 25 Under 5 Award" from the Utah Valley Entrepreneurial Forum (UVEF). The Award recognizes companies throughout Utah that are five years old or younger that have garnered significant success in their respective industry.

"We are honored to receive this award," said Craig Rickenbach, CEO and co-founder of Persnickety Clothing Company. "Our customers have been the biggest part of our success along with our retailers, who believed in the company as much as we did and flocked to support us in our business from the start. It's a testament to what people can do when they're united behind a cause."

Persnickety has a unique cause-related business model that enables it to deliver quality, US-made clothing to brick and mortar stores and online retailers around the country, while focusing a significant amount of its profits on global-reaching philanthropic endeavors, like providing school uniforms to children in Nicaragua or replenishing grain silos in villages ravaged by flooding in Central America.

"We wanted to create a company that was not only good at what it does but also good to other people as well," said Corinne Rickenbach, chief designer and co-founder of Persnickety Clothing. "Our focus has always been to share with those less fortunate and try to leave the world better than we found it. Nicaragua has been a great place for us to start."

The focus on giving back has paid off handsomely for Persnickety as the UVEF Award attests. Persnickety now joins the ranks of some of Utah's most prosperous companies, such as ZAGG, Altiris, Omniture and Xango, that are among the more than 200 companies recognized since the UVEF Award was created.

"Every year, the list of recipients for the Award is truly astonishing," said UVEF board member, John Pilmer. "This year was no exception, and Persnickety was a standout winner among our judges. We are pleased to honor them."

Founded in 2008, Persnickety Clothing Company designs and manufactures totally unique girls clothing that has been characterized as vintage with a fanciful twist.
