Cintas Corporation, a world leader in corporate identity uniforms, announced it won “Best Stock Design” at the 2012 Professional Clothing Awards. Sponsored by Mascot International, Williamson-Dickie Europe Limited and Magnum, the Professional Clothing Awards celebrate cutting-edge design, innovation and ingenuity throughout the workwear supply chain, from corporate uniforms to safety garments and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Cintas, the only overseas organization to win one of the prestigious, London-based awards, was recognized for its Double-Breasted Houndstooth Tunic during an awards ceremony held April 17 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, UK.

“As the only event in the UK that celebrates professional workwear, this award showcases the finest in global apparel,” said Todd McKeown, Vice President of Global Hospitality and Gaming, Cintas. “We are honored to receive the award as we further expand our uniform services for customers in Europe and other parts of the world.”

More than 120 entries from across 15 countries were received for the Professional Clothing Awards, which were judged by a panel of experts in uniform development, design and fashion. The awards were divided into three sections covering Business Managers, Suppliers and those for ‘PPE Innovation’—a category initiated by SATRA, a world-leading technology centre specializing in the research, development and testing of a wide range of products.

Yvette Ashby, Managing Director of Corporate Clothes Show LLP—the company that stages both the Professional Clothing Awards event and the associated ‘Workwear and Corporate Clothing Show’—said, “After a rigorous selection process, our highly experienced and expert judges were impressed with the style, utility and sustainability of Cintas’ Double-Breasted Houndstooth Tunic. It was wonderful to see representatives from Cintas and so many other worthy and deserving companies take home these awards.”

Available in women’s and misses sizes, Cintas’ Double-Breasted Houndstooth Tunic is a fashionable and environmentally-friendly option for women in hospitality. The garment features superior moisture-wicking fabric for employee comfort and dryness, and two lower in-seam pockets and a contrast collar provide style and utility.

In addition, the tunic is comprised of 50 percent recycled polyester, which is created by diverting plastic bottles from landfills and transforming them into recycled polyester fibers. For added sustainability, the Double-Breasted Houndstooth Tunic can be home laundered, eliminating the need for costly dry cleaning services that use potentially caustic chemicals.
