The land-locked Eastern European country of Belarus is exploring prospects of knitwear and textile exports to the Netherlands.

A delegation of Belarusian light industry ‘Bellegprom’, led by Lyudmila Parkhamovich, head of trade department of Bellegprom, visited Netherlands earlier this week and discussed possibilities of Belarusian textile and apparel exports with representatives of Modint – the Dutch trade association for textiles, carpets and fashion.

The visit was organized by the Belarusian embassy in the Netherlands, BelTA said quoting the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

During the visit, ways to intensify cooperation between the Belarusian and Dutch textile and garment companies were discussed.

The Belarusian delegates invited Modint members to participate in the 32nd international exhibition BelTEXlegprom-Spring to be held in Minsk from April 2-4, 2013.

The Belarusian delegation visited ModeFabriek 2013, the Netherlands’ biggest exhibition for apparel, fashion and design professionals, where products of more than 600 European brands were on display.

In addition, Belarusian team discussed with representatives of Dutch companies interested in placing clothing orders for leading European brands.

Meetings were also held with representatives of leading Dutch trading networks to discuss prospects and conditions for arranging direct supplies of Belarusian textiles and apparels to the Netherlands.
