Visitor numbers at SIMM surpass exhibitor expectations

Alongside these considerations, the participating brands at this edition of SIMM that were consulted believe that the Spanish fashion market is progressing, although very slowly. In this respect, they have observed how new points of sale are gradually emerging, which could represent a sign of recovery for the industry in the near future. As far as internationalisation is concerned, the companies agree that this is a key aspect when it comes to guaranteeing their expansion, based on the quality dimension offered by the Spain brand.

The September 2013 edition of the fair will be staged jointly with MODACALZADO+IBERPIEL

In this respect, this February 2013 edition was the last in which SIMM was staged as a solo event. As of its next September 2013 edition, to be staged from 6th to 8th September, it will take place alongside MODACALZADO+IBERPIEL, the International Footwear and Leather Goods Fair, making up a new project in which both events preserve their names but take place under del umbrella brand known as MOMAD-Fashion Events in Madrid-.

The aim of this new project is to guarantee a more competitive and attractive event for Spanish and foreign buyers and companies within the new worldwide economic context. Furthermore, another main factor that has led IFEMA to set upon this joint initiative consists of the growing tendency in recent years for shops to present clothing items and footwear within the same establishment, thus offering what is known as a total look.

The new umbrella brand, MOMAD, Fashion Events in Madrid, will also encompass other fairs organised by IFEMA that have a strong fashion dimension, including ETIQUETA NEGRA and LAS MIL Y UNA BODAS.
