Peruvian firms to participate in Intermoda 2013 at Mexico

The second edition of the Intermoda International fair 2013 will have 12 Peruvian apparel companies participating in the fair. The biannual event which takes place in January and July each year, is scheduled to be held in Guadalajara, Mexico city from July 16 to 19, 2013.

The aim of participating in the fair is to promote Peruvian apparel exports and strengthening the presence of Peruvian companies in the Latin American market, according to the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), which has authorized the trip to promote exports and is also providing support and advice to the participating Peruvian companies.

The first participation of Peruvian garment firms in Intermoda 2012 resulted in US$ 1.8 million in businesses for the next twelve months.

The objective of Peruvian companies is to promote exports of apparel sector and increase Peru’s visibility as a supplier of clothing materials and quality finishes in Mexico, Mincetur said.

In 2012 edition, Peru showcased alpaca and cotton clothes such as T-shirts, sweaters, pajamas, shirts, children’s clothing and accessories.

The Intermoda International fair, Mexico, is one of the most important events for the fashion and apparel industry in Mexico and draws in participants from countries like Argentina, Spain, United States, Peru, India and many more.

The exhibitors at the event benefit from the opportunity of generating sales and making new business developments with industry leaders all across the globe. The primary aim of the event is to establish business relations with all sectors of apparel and fashion in Mexico.
