The Institute for Export and Fashion of Colombia (INEXMODA) would be hosting the next edition of the World Fashion Convention in 2014, which is organized by the International Apparel Federation (IAF), announced president of INEXMODA, Carlos Eduardo Botero, at the recently concluded 29th edition of the convention in Shanghai, China.

According to a statement issued by INEXMODA, Carlos Eduardo Botero, showcased a presentation of the next edition of the fashion convention, and outlined the opportunities of the Colombian garment sector, emphasizing on the advantages for garment sectors in the country.

Mr. Botero said INEXMODA is honored to be the strategic partner and host of the next edition of the fashion convention.

The fact that Colombia is selected to host the 30th edition is a testimony that the country is a relevant player in the world fashion industry and this opportunity would help the local garment sector of the country to showcase its strengths to international visitors, he added.

Harry Van Dalfsen, president of the IAF, said that Medellin in Colombia is a fantastic place for hosting the 30th edition of the World Fashion Convention, not only as this would be the first time the convention would take place in Latin America, but also because Medellin is one of the most innovative cities in the country.

Innovation, creativity and growth opportunities are important characteristics of the fashion industry and all these qualities are present in the city of Medellin, he added.

Visitors from around the world, including representatives from major textile, clothing, and fashion firms, as well as associations would be attending the convention.
