Three months before the summer season show, from 17 to 20 February 2014, and already over 80% of the stands at Texworld have been booked! At the end of last September’s show, many firms had already rebooked and the pace has intensified since mid-October.

The exhibition will soon be fully booked with the last confirmations now in progress and new firms being chosen for the show by the selection committee.

“These excellent results demonstrates the interest from manufacturing companies, with China at the forefront, in the European market, which remains one of the largest markets for exports,” stresses Michael Scherpe, President of Messe Frankfurt France.

Is the trend towards recovery growing stronger in the textiles industry? Based on the bookings at Texworld and increase in exhibition space, it very well looks like it.

There are many large companies; regulars and those attending for the first time, that have requested bigger stands to better present their collections and improve the reception for visitors. We have noticed these requests in sectors such as knits, cotton for dresses and blouses, denim, lace, embroidery and cotton for casual wear.

The main textile-producing countries, China, India, Turkey and Pakistan, are still demonstrating their interest in the European market, where demand remains among the strongest, along with that in the United States.

Silk manufacturers from Huzhou to boost offer in the silk sector

Silk is ranked among the top three fabrics with the most demand at Texworld. This is a sector that is thriving at Texworld, where almost 40 exhibitors will be welcomed next February, which is an increase of 25% compared to February 2013.

For the first time, the Texworld Spring edition will be host to over ten silk producers from the Huzhou region – they usually only attend the shows in September. The Huzhou region, located about one hundred kilometres from Shanghai, is renowned for the quality of its silk production.

The weavers coming to Paris will be offering a wide variety of silk: in satin, muslin, twill or even jersey. These companies export a good share of their production, mainly to Europe and the United States.

The silk producer’s attendance each season demonstrates their intention to increase their presence on the European market and their confidence in Texworld as a platform. The next Texworld will take place from Monday 17 to Thursday 20 February 2014, at Le Bourget, Paris.
