adidas Outdoor, the athletic brand in the outdoors, announces it will feature the new PrimaLoft Performance Down Blends in three new jackets for men and women for 2014.  The hybrid design combines water-repellent, fluorocarbon-free down blended with PrimaLoft insulation.

This hybrid insulation engineered by intimately blending premium down with moisture blocking, permanent water repellent PrimaLoft ultra-fine fibers combines the best qualities of both materials and offers warmth, protection, outstanding dry times and comfort no matter what the conditions.

“PrimaLoft’s new Performance Down Blends is a warmth and performance technology that has not been seen before in the market, and it will allow our athletes and customers to take their adventures further,” said Greg Thomsen, adidas Outdoor US managing director.  “Our Climaheat styles for fall ’14 offer consumers three different levels of performance, dependent upon their personal needs, but each will provide superior warmth in all conditions.”

Available in two levels, the Gold series will be found in the Terrex Climheat Ice Jacket for men and women.  The Silver series will be featured in the Terrex Swift Climaheat Frost Jacket for men and women and the Hiking Climaheat Jacket for men.

The Terrex Climaheat Ice Jacket with PrimaLoft Gold Insulation Down Blend offers high-performance warmth equivalent to 750 fill goose down and maintains 95 percent of its warmth in wet conditions.

The athletic fit jacket also features partial Cocona lining for ultimate moisture management, PrimaLoft insulated stretch inserts for enhanced freedom of movement, Formotion for improved performance and comfort while in motion, and an adjustable hood for maximum weather protection and comfort.

The Terrex Swift Climaheat Frost Jacket with PrimaLoft Silver Insulation Down Blend offers high-performance warmth equivalent to 650 fill duck down and the water-resistant technology maintains 94 percent of its warmth in wet conditions.

The relaxed fit Hiking Climaheat Jacket for men is equipped with the Silver series PrimaLoft Performance Down Blends and 60 percent duck down and 40 percent PrimaLoft insulation.  It features a draw cord hem at the bottom for enhanced temperature control and comfort and a removable hood.
