20 Bangladeshi firms to partake in Asia Apparel Expo

With an effort to boost apparel exports to the German market, around 20 Bangladeshi apparel firms would be participating at the Asia Apparel Expo, scheduled to be held from February 18 to 20 in the German city of Berlin.

The 20 apparel firms would be attending the international trade fair for the procurement of clothing and fashion accessories under the aegis of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) as well as the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), reports Bangladesh news agency BSS.

According to EPB the participation at the Asia Apparel Expo would prove to be highly beneficial for the country’s apparel sector and would also help narrow Bangladesh’s trade deficit.

The Asia Apparel Expo is one of the largest trade fairs in Europe where Asian manufacturers of apparel and accessories present their high-quality 100 percent made-in-Asia products to European buyers.

The third edition of the event would bring together over 200 apparel manufacturers from various garment producing Asian countries, including Bangladesh, mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Exhibitors at the event would be showcasing a variety of apparel products such as menswear, womenswear, sportswear, denimwear, casual wear, kidswear, basic fabrics, functional fabrics, novelty fabrics, eco-textiles, non-wovens, and accessories such as ribbons, lace, Velcro, linings, labels, tags and more.
