With the aim of providing a gateway for European apparel and fashion brands to enter the Latin and South American market, the South American country of Chile is all set to host the first edition of a global fashion fair titled the International Fashion Show (IF’S) from June 10 to 12, in the Chilean capital city of Santiago.
According to the IF’S website, the event is aimed at gathering apparel manufacturers and fashion designers of European brands under one roof in order to attract buyers from Chile as well as its neighboring countries such as Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay and Colombia.
Organized by the IF’S team consisting of Spanish and Latin American fashion experts, designers, editors and specialists, the event would have manufacturers showcasing various products including readymade garments, textiles, handbags, accessories and more.
According to the organizers, Chile was chosen because the country does not impose any tariffs on imports of clothing, which makes it a good platform through which manufacturers can distribute to other Latin American countries.
The three-day event would also have a special space dedicated for European apparel manufacturers and fashion designers to interact with Latin American buyers in order to establish business contacts.
