Alvanon President to speak at two Hong Kong events

Alvanon, the world’s leading apparel size and fit expert, has announced that Ed Gribbin, president of Alvanon Inc., will tackle modernization and globalization at two of Hong Kong’s most influential industry events.

At Prime Source Forum PSF, 2nd April, afternoon session in the Ballroom 2/F at the Intercontinental Hotel, 18 Salisbury Road, Kowloom he will address up to 400 senior executive delegates from over 20 countries on: ‘How technology and process modernization are lowering costs and shortening lead times.’

Alvanon is also a sponsor of PSF 2014. At the prestigious French Chamber of Commerce, luxury and retail committee meeting on 3rd April, 8.30 to 10am held at the Chamber’s office 21/F On Hing Building, 1 On Hing Terrace, Central, Hong Kong he will tackle: ‘Global to local: Risks and rewards in adapting fashion to international markets’ and will reveal how some of the top global brands are achieving ‘fit’ in new international markets with relative ease.

Ed Gribbin is generally regarded throughout the international fashion industry as the world’s foremost authority on apparel sizing and fit. His expert advice on improving fit and product development has secured consultancy contracts with most of the world’s top multinational fashion, lingerie, sportswear, outerwear, mail order and corporate clothing brands and retailers in over 90 countries.

In his PSF presentation he will draw on this vast experience and explain how some of the most successful global brands and retailers are adjusting and realigning their product development processes and embracing new tools and communication strategies to regain competitive advantage in their supply chains.

In his French Chamber of Commerce presentation he will advise on when, why and how retailers and brands can adapt their products in a way that maintains brand integrity while engaging with new local customers, securing customer loyalty and maximizing full price sell-throughs.

Since joining Alvanon in 2006 Ed Gribbin has played an outstanding role in developing the group’s global profile. He led the team who compiled the world’s largest database of 300,000 human 3D body scans, analysed consumer measurement data and conducted numerous brand and product fit assessments.

Prior to Alvanon Ed served as president of Intellifit Corporation where he co-invented the revolutionary Intellifit body scanner. As senior vice president of Angelica Corporation, Ed Gribbin managed sales, marketing, design and production for one of the largest corporate wear companies in the US. He currently operates from the group’s head office in New York and regional offices in the UK, Hong Kong and Germany.
