UNIQLO to open seven new US stores in fall & summer

UNIQLO announced that it will continue its expansion in the U.S. by opening new stores throughout the summer and fall in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Northern California.

The new UNIQLO locations and opening dates are:

Bay Area/Northern California

-Plaza Escuela Shopping Center in Walnut Creek, CA (August 29)

-Stoneridge Shopping Center in Pleasanton, CA (August 29)

-Great Mall of the Bay Area in Milpitas, CA (September 12)

Connecticut

-Westfield Connecticut Post Mall in Milford, CT (August 29)

-Danbury Fair Mall in Danbury, CT (October 24)

New Jersey

-Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, NJ (September 19)

New York

-Roosevelt Field Shopping Mall in Garden City, NY (August 29)

"As we continue our expansion in the US, we're excited to offer more shopping opportunities to our loyal fan base who look to us to provide great clothing that is comfortable, fun and designed to effortlessly complement those wearing it," said Larry Meyer, CEO of UNIQLO USA and Fast Retailing Group Senior Vice President.

UNIQLO plans to open more stores in 2014, including the new markets of Philadelphia, Boston and Los Angeles. Currently, there are 20 UNIQLO stores open in the U.S. in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Northern California, as well as UNIQLO.com, which offers nationwide online shopping.

To staff these new stores, UNIQLO plans to hire and train several hundred full-time and part-time employees at all levels.
