More than 70 childrenswear labels, belonging to Spain, Holland, Italy and Portugal, showcased their latest ceremonial dress creations at the just held second instalment of Día Mágico (meaning Magical Day in English), a runway-centric event held as part of the forthcoming Spanish kids’ apparel trade fair FIMI.

Valencian brand Rubio Kids featured its new communion-2015 line, which included an impeccably tailored pantsuit, inspired from the former actress Bianca Jagger’s much talked about Yves Saint Laurent-designed outfit which she wore during her wedding to the famous English musician Mick Jagger in 1971.

Apart from the pantsuit, the line’s other ensembles for girls were some floral detailed gauze, tulle, organza and embroidered voile crafted dresses in peach and pearly white shades. The boys’ nautical-themed range featured indigo blue parkas and linen and poplin shorts.

Another Valencia-based design talent Hortensia Maeso displayed her new collection of communion dresses, made from comfy fabrics like cotton and linen. Based in relaxed but elegant silhouettes, the line showcased pretty gowns and short and long skirts for girls as well as vest suits for boys.

In addition to the above mentioned designers, the three-day event, which was held at the Real Fábrica de Tapices (Royal Tapestry Factory) in Madrid, also showcased lingerie and fashion collections from Barcarolle, Carmy, Cap Ras, Charo Creations, Les Enfants de L'Eden, Larrana, Lovely Day, Marla, Periquetta, Rubio Kids, Suay, Helmsmen and Men. Thirty new companies like Amarato Collection, Bebeschic, Kidslavy, My Dress, Non Air Atelier and Petit Olacaracola Blau Mari also showcased their collections at the event.

The 79th edition of international trade fair FIMI, which specifically focuses on childrenswear, is scheduled to be held from July 4 to 6, 2014.
