The UEFA Euro 2008 European Football Championship will be held in Switzerland and Austria between June 7 and 29. To celebrate the event and service the international fan community, The Nuance Group has opened two dedicated UEFA EURO 2008 stores at Zurich and Geneva airports.

Both temporary stores are located landside in the airports' general visitors' area and cover roughly thirty square metres each. Accessible from three sides, the stores offer a maximum shop front to passers-by, encouraging them to browse the offer at their leisure.

The product assortment comprises a wide range of T-shirts in different national colours, footballs, games, pins, caps, mugs, travel luggage etc. Within the stores, LED screens depict great football moments from the European Championships and add to the excitement created by the highly visible stores.

Stephan Salvisberg, Managing Director, The Nuance Group Switzerland, commented: “With Switzerland hosting an event of the importance of the UEFA EURO 2008, it was clear to us and our airport partners that we wanted to provide an adequate shopping offer targeting fans at Zurich and Geneva airports. We are confident that our stores will contribute to the positive image of Switzerland as the event's host country for fans flying into and out of Switzerland.”

Philippe Margraff, Commercial Director of UEFA added: ”UEFA 's goal is to reach the fans. The airports are high traffic areas and therefore a great way to achieve this goal. We are pleased to have a collaboration with a professional retail industry company such as Nuance Group.”

Patrick Graf, Head Marketing Retail, Unique Zurich Airport, went on to add: “Given its perfect integration into the public transportation system, Zurich Airport is a very important hub not only for airline passengers, but also for people travelling by train, bus or private car. During the UEFA EURO 2008, an area for public viewing will be located next to the UEFA EURO 2008 store, making this the perfect location for the temporary shop.”
