Influenced by multiple factors such as the adjustment of domestic foreign trade policy, decline of foreign demand, the appreciation of RMB and sustained rise in prices of raw materials, clothing exports from Guangdong Province appear to have been adversely affected, this year.
According to Guangzhou Customs statistics, from January to April, exports of clothing and apparel accessories from Guangdong reaped US $6.65 billion, down 15.1 percent, as compared to 31.2 percent growth during the same period last year.
It has been noted that the private sector, especially the small and medium enterprises, are facing the greatest challenge in these difficult times.
