Exports of elastic shirt witness sky-rocketing growth

In first eight months of this year, country exported 15.1 million units of elastic shirts to Taiwan with value of US $42.5 million.
This has resulted in a growth of 99 and 162 percent in volume and value respectively, with unit price growing by 31 percent to $ 2.81 on an average, corresponding to the same period of 2007.
Due to these figures, elastic shirts accounted for the highest export turnover and also the highest growth rate in exports from the industry to Taiwan.
Export of trousers totaled to 5.4 million units worth $21.3 million, showing a rise of 35.5 percent in quantity and 68 percent in value, at a per unit rate of $3.94 which also saw an increase of 24 percent year-on-year.
Exports of fabric fetched $16.2 million, rising by 13 percent, followed by coat and jacket with a growth of 221 and 111 percent respectively.
Simultaneously export of shirts witnessed growth of 12 percent whereas products such as undergarments and towels experienced a decrease by 18 and 47 percent respectively.
