blabla, the internationally acclaimed children's apparel and toy workshop, introduced 22 mythical mini-creatures, five new dolls and eight new children's tee shirts as part of their Spring/Summer, 2009 collection of contemporary, hand-knit designs at: - Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market Jan. 9-13; - Los Angeles International Gift Show Jan. 13-19; - New England's Merchandise Mart Jan. 19-20; Chicago's Apparel Center Jan 17-20 and - New York's International Gift Fair Jan. 25-29.

“blabla is one of the most fantastic lines I've ever worked with,” says Karen Alweil, who reps an exclusive group of manufacturers and designers and is based in L.A. “I've represented blabla for eight years and what I adore is their ability to reach a wide audience from celebrities to eco-conscious moms and dads.”

The 2009 collection will be available on blabla's website and through its retailers in March.

Inspired by a trip to Peru, blabla was founded in 2001 by French designer, Florence Wetterwald, and Georgia native, Susan Pritchett. Finger puppets made by Peruvian artisans were their first product. blabla now has more than 100 different finger puppet characters and 35 styles of dolls as well as 22 Boogaloos. A simple collection of hats, sweaters, pants and tee shirts was later introduced and was well received by the lovers of beautiful things that last.

“blabla's toys and clothing are definitely fun and out of the ordinary,” says Jo Ann Miller Marshall, Senior Vice-President of AmericasMart Atlanta Gift & Home Furnishings Tradeshows. “blabla attracts an enthusiastic crowd with their bright colors and happy designs. Buyers tend to gravitate towards them.”

Spring/Summer, 2009 Collection
- 5 New Dolls: McNuttie the Squirrel; Bandit the Raccoon; Antoinette the Queen; Clochette the Fairy; and Giselle the Ballerina.

“I spent part of the summer in England, and I came back with a full head of beautiful and ridiculous British pop images from the 70's which inspired our new 'Monty' line of tee shirts,” says Wetterwald. “As for the Old Schoolbook line, Susan and I have always had a soft spot for old books and gentle sayings.”
