JanSport Heritage packs made with CORDURA brand fabric

CORDURA fabrics have been selected by JanSport to construct a number of models in its new Heritage Series. Touted for more than 30 years for its legendary durability and performance, INVISTA's CORDURA fabrics have been selected by JanSport, the original outdoor gear Brand that equips people globally with quality backpacks, travel gear and collegiate apparel, to construct a number of models in its new Heritage Series.

The JanSport Heritage Series is a modern and honest re-issue of the Brand's original backpack and travel silhouettes that got their start in 1967. JanSport has utilized classic looking 1000 denier CORDURA brand fabrics for a number of pieces in the new Series, and each pack is pre-washed to give a weathered retro feel similar to that of JanSport's original collection.

“Early on, JanSport recognized the value of using the most durable materials to create long-lasting products,” said Allen Mortimer, North American marketing manager for INVISTA's CORDURA brand. “With the new Heritage Series we continue to use CORDURA fabrics to showcase the exceptional quality and true essence of JanSport's original products.”

“The Heritage Series is truly taking us back to our roots – in look, feel and design,” said Skip Yowell, co-founder of JanSport. “We used CORDURA fabrics back then, and our two brands have a long-standing relationship that has withstood the test of time – perhaps because both have similar principles of exceptional durability, quality and long lasting good looks.”

The following JanSport Heritage packs are made with CORDURA brand fabric and are available in six colors – black, boulder blue, retro orange, buckthorn brown, birch brown, and new cilantro green:
• Hoss;
• L'il Hoss;
• The Heads Up;
• Snoqualmie Duffel;
• Westridge.

Coming soon in Fall 2009, JanSport will also incorporate high performance CORDURA fabrics into many of its signature bags.

The relationship between the CORDURA brand and JanSport spans more than 30 years, and to celebrate that history, JanSport will be the first to showcase the CORDURA brand's newly designed CORDURA brand hangtag.

“The launch of our new hangtag with JanSport is a perfect fit,” said Cindy McNaull, global brand manager for the CORDURA brand. “It helps both INVISTA and JanSport reaffirm to consumers that the line's packs and bags are made with only best-in-class materials, including high performance CORDURA fabrics.”
