Anta Sports Products delivers exemplary results

The impact of the global economic crisis is increasing and is dealing a heavy blow to China's textile and garment industry, leading to en-masse closures, but Anta Sports Products Co., Ltd., the Hong Kong based company has not been affected and has also shown a strong growth momentum, by delivering exemplary results.

Anta released its latest results on March 3. The company achieved a turnover of 4.626 billion Yuan in 2008, representing a year-on-year increase of 54.8 percent, gross margin rose 6.5 percent to 40.0 percent, operating profit grew 94.2 percent to 9.31 billion Yuan and net profits rose 66.4 percent to 895 million Yuan.

Since being listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong in July 2007, Anta has achieved a high growth phase. Spokesman Zhang Tao said, “The performance comes from a combination of accumulated experience and paying close attention to mass-market demand and also positioning it as a brand”.

On the other hand, Anta is also actively involved in basic research and development of sporting goods. Anta has founded China's first sports science lab a result of high scientific and technological requirements of the basketball game and has also sponsored professional league CBA in 2005.

Zhang Tao said, “We seize opportunities, stand at the front of every tide and when wave after wave comes rather than being thrown back into the seabed, we stand rock steady and push ourselves towards this tidal wave and towards this end Anta continues to pursue the spirit of 'Never stop Marching'”.
