Accessories like belts, watches, handbags, earrings, sun glasses, ties etc. have always been a part and parcel of a man's or women's wardrobe since years. But it is only now, in recent years that, retailers have been able to cash in on the increasingly demanding customer.

Madame, the Ludhiana based womenswear apparel retailer has come out with an accessory only retail chain. This has come about due to the changing preferences of the Indian consumer, who due to an increase in disposable incomes has become more demanding.

Fibre2fashion spoke to Akhil Duggar, Creative Director at Madame who said, “Accessory sector is growing nicely and steadily despite such critical situation and we have started 6 retail showrooms since March 2009”.

He added by saying that, “The reason behind our success is because we are not expanding fast, but are focusing on customer requirement, services and quality of the products and secondly we pay attention to presentation of the products in organized manner”.

He concluded by saying, “We are planning for 25 more stores with investment of 2 million in each accessory store”.
