A recently released "China Sourcing Report - Women's Wear", suggests that, 60 percent of the surveyed Chinese companies dealing in exports of women's wear said that, they would maintain or lower product prices in 2010 due to increasing price competition. The product areas covered in the report include women's shirts, sweaters, pullovers, shorts, pants, semi-skirt, dress, suit, business wear, coats and jackets.
Ye Jing, publisher of the report, said, "Nearly half of the respondents point out that price competition will be the biggest challenge faced by them. As most of the enterprises significantly reduced the number of staff and expenses to a minimum level in 2009, therefore suppliers at present can only maintain their advantages through streamlining operation and improving production efficiency."
Ye Jing added, "Overall, international buyers respond positively to China's high-end clothing, as Chinese Women's suppliers manufacture women's fashion styles by using high quality fabrics, but their product prices carry a competitive advantage, due to which buyers can purchases different styles of women's clothing with practical features and made by more environmentally-friendly fabrics in China.
