Dollar General launches new, exclusive line of socks

Expanding its offering of high-quality apparel basics, Dollar General Corp introduces a new line of private brand socks, which are now available in all stores. Produced by Gildan Activewear exclusively for Dollar General, Bobbie Brooks socks for women and girls and Open Trails socks for men and boys offer comfort, fit and affordability.
"Dollar General is excited to bring this new line of socks to our customers," said Todd Vasos, Dollar General's chief merchandising officer. "We've listened to what our customers want in the fit, style and value of socks. Together with Gildan, we've created a line of socks that our customers will feel good about purchasing, due to their minimal impact on the environment, as well as a product they will love to wear. These socks are one of the many ways Dollar General is improving high-quality apparel basics and making them affordable for everyone."
Both Bobbie Brooks by Gildan and Open Trails by Gildan offer a line of comfortable, cotton-blend socks, which feature a smooth toe seam and soft-cushioned sole. The socks are available in white, as well as a variety of colors and silhouettes including crew, ankle, low-cut and no-show styles for women and girls. For men and boys, socks are available in crew, ankle and no-show styles, which are offered in black and white. Open Trails also features a line of men's work wear socks that are heavyweight and made of soft, ring-spun cotton.
In addition, the Bobbie Brooks and Open Trails socks offer customers an option in socks that they can feel confident about buying. Gildan is committed to delivering high-quality products while employing leading sustainable practices. Gildan's labor compliance program for its vertically-integrated manufacturing facilities is accredited by the Fair Labor Association. Open Trails and Bobbie Brooks socks produced by Gildan will carry the "Cotton USA" logo. U.S. cotton growers have taken a leadership position globally in developing sustainable agricultural practices and ethical workplace conditions.
