Tadashi Yanai, Chairman and President, Fast Retailing Co recently stated that, the company, that operates Uniqlo casual garment chain, in the coming 10 years, would endeavour to add new outlets to the existing ones to have a total of 1,000 Uniqlo outlets across China.

While addressing a press conference in Shanghai, Yanai also stated that, Fast Retailing is expecting that, with the help of planned expansion, their sales in China would soon touch one trillion yen.

The comments just came prior to the launch of Uniqlo store in Shanghai. The outlet spreads across an area of 3,600 square meters and is the biggest of all the Uniqlo outlets.

In 2002, Fast Retailing commenced its first ever Uniqlo store in Shanghai, China, which was directly managed by the firm. Since then, the company has launched many outlets in mainland China and Hong Kong, summing up to 64 as on May 1.
