Cotton Council International (CCI) announces the second edition of its T-Shirt design competition TeeZing on the theme “My Cotton World”. The competition offers every participant a chance to showcase their creativity and sketching skills. The competition will be open to young and old to express what cotton means to them. The competition will run from June 28th through July 22nd , 2010.

The top three national winners of TeeZing will be awarded cash prizes worth Rs.1,00,000/, Rs. 75,000/- and Rs.50,000/- respectively. In addition, the best designs will be retailed by Flying Machine, a popular brand in the ready-to-wear segment. To increase the chances of winning for each participant, CCI has also allowed multiple entry options.

Speaking on TeeZing, Mr. Sachit Bhatia, Senior Manager Representative, South Asia, Cotton Council International, said, “TeeZing is based on the premise of creativity, fashion and fun with cotton. Last year we received close to 6,000 entries from across the country. This year we hope to spread the cotton word to an even bigger audience with promotional activities in schools and colleges throughout the country. We have also tied up with retail partners across the country for an enhanced outreach and response.”

CCI has created a formidable team to judge the contest and declare the results by the end of July 2010. The jury for this season will include leading names from the creative, design and fashion fraternity. TeeZing is being promoted through mass mailers, radio mentions and contests. Banners and posters are being displayed in schools, colleges and design institutes along with communities on popular online social networking sites. In addition, retail partners like Café Coffee Day and Flying Machine will promote the contest through their strategically located stores across the country.

The competition was launched by CCI in 2009 simultaneously in 10 countries including India, to celebrate the International Year of Natural Fibres. TeeZine as it was named in its first edition, was conceived with the objective to develop positive dispositions toward cotton, especially amongst the youth. It is one of the many popular outreach activities undertaken by CCI globally.

CCI is a non-profit organization devoted to the promotion of cotton in India. It runs a “Generic Cotton Education”' program, which strives to increase the demand among end-consumers for products made from 100 percent cotton, so that retailers, manufacturers and spinners could be encouraged to produce a higher percentage of 100 percent cotton products to meet this consumer demand.
