Fashionable Speed for safety!!!

Safety apparel such as high visibility safety vests, pants and coveralls were primarily designed for workers performing high risk tasks within the mining, transportation, firefighter and construction industries, to name a few. But, that's changing. Now, thanks to OccuNomix International's Speed Collection, a new trend is emerging. Workers are not only wearing safety gear to protect them from occupational hazards, but motorcyclists, bicyclists and other outdoor fitness enthusiasts are wearing the apparel as well.
"As the global leader in design and manufacturing of safety apparel, we wanted to break tradition by designing a new line that is not only safe but fashionable. With innovative design and fabric technology, we are now able to offer products that have reflective capabilities with breathable material that provides a closer body fit. The new line of high visibility safety apparel is launching at a good time. According to the latest data published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (i) (NHTSA), 47% of all motorcycles involved in fatal crashes collided with another type of motor vehicle in transport. In two-vehicle crashes, 77% of the motorcycles involved were struck in the front. 52,000 bicyclists were injured in traffic in 2008 (up sharply from 43,000 in 2007).
"Now motorcyclists, bicyclists, walkers, runners and others enjoying the outdoors can wear the latest fashion trend while being more visible and safer. It doesn't get much better than that," said McCoy.
