Reliance Brands to launch clothing label

Reliance Retail's subsidiary; Reliance Brands is surveying the opportunities for acquisition in local markets, and is also intending to launch its personalized luxury brand over the next one and a half year.

The company which now mainly focuses on men's collection is considering diversifying in to women and kidswear segments.

Darshan Mehta, President and CEO Reliance Brands said, now they are seriously considering launching their label, and have already initiated efforts and diverted funds towards the same. If everything turns out as per the plans they would have a brand of their own over the next 18 months, he added.

Moreover, the subsidiary is also carrying out talks with some of the Indian companies, in the apparel, footwear and accessories sector for acquisition.

The company founded in 2007, has partnered with international brands like Diesel, Zegna and Timberland. Besides, it also holds franchisee for Italy's fashion label, Paul & Shark.

The official further said that, they are in no rush to expand their business, as the company is still adjusting its finances, with an eye to associate with strong labels.

Though he did not disclose the names, Mehta did say that, the company may possibly announce its linkage with two more global brands.

While speaking on development of current brands, Mehta informed about the company's intention to launch three more outlets for Diesel, 10 for Timberland, five for Zenga and four new outlets for Paul & Shark.
