DOWNLITE, the premier supplier of premium down in the United States, is announcing partnerships with Eddie Bauer and RAB at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2011. The partnerships will result in exclusive down supply for a range of apparel pieces from each company in 2011.

DOWNLITE has long been recognized in the U.S. bedding industry as the go-to trusted brand for down filling due to their ability to process and sterilize fill in USA, Europe, and Asia under the strictest quality control processes providing the highest quality and most consistent natural fill possible. DOWNLITE has spent two centuries refining its premium down and as the company grows, it's evident that down-filled sleeping bags and outerwear are the ideal products to showcase DOWNLITE's premium insulation.

“Our RestAssured sterilizing process ensures the cleanest and highest quality down fills on the market,” said, Marvin Werthaiser, co-founder, DOWNLITE. “This level of integrity allows us to provide the very best insulation at high production capacities, making us an ideal partner for outdoor and snowsports apparel manufacturers.”

As the economy continues to gain momentum, sales of insulated apparel have increased by over 40 percent since the start of 2010 according to Outdoor Industry Association Vantage Point research. Manufacturers creating down-filled apparel seek to find partners who can provide readily available quantities of high quality, consistent down, in time for their production needs.

“We continue to seek out the best ingredient partners in order to create superior apparel and outerwear pieces for our customers, said, David Peterson, senior product development & product manager, Eddie Bauer. “DOWNLITE has proven to be a trusted partner and we're proud to be able to offer their quality, U.S. processed down in a segment of our new down apparel pieces moving into the next year.”

To ensure quality control, DOWNLITE invests each year in independent quality testing of their down insulation. In fact, the DOWNLITE internal standards are far more strict than those set by the FTC and USDA, making the company universally known as the most consistent, highest quality down and feather processor in the United States; with joint venture partnerships in Europe and Asia. Additionally, DOWNLITE has wonderful relationships with the off-shore factories that are manufacturing the down-filled garments and sleeping bags for their vendor-partners; ensuring smooth communication and deliveries.

The family owned down business has been successfully run for over thirty years by brothers Larry Werthaiser, Marvin Werthaiser and longtime family friend Bob Altbaier. Today, DOWNLITE is the largest and fastest growing major U.S. luxury down-filled bedding manufacturer and is growing into new categories and markets.
