Chennai Silks, a leading textile retailer, proposes to expand its footprints in India and in other parts of the world.
The textile retailer intends to set up retail outlets in key regions of Tamil Nadu, including Tirunelveli, over the next two months, and also proposes to expand its overseas operations, by way of opening franchisee outlets in foreign countries.
The retailer already has its outlets in Ernakulam, Chennai, Tirupur, Coimbatore, Trichy, Erode and Karur, which sell formal and casual men's and kids wear and also designer saris, churidhar and dress materials.
The company, presently even operates a franchisee outlet in Paris, and has recently opened exclusive silk galleries at Tiruchirappalli and Karur.
A rare collection of 25,000 silk saris comprising best variety saris like those embellished with diamonds, gold, precious gems and platinum fibres would be put up for display at the new silk galleries.
A silk sari manufactured by Chennai Silks, featuring reproductions of 11 paintings by the celebrated India artist, Raja Ravi Varma was sold for a record Rs 3.93 million, features in the Guinness Book of World Records.
