As per a quality sampling test in Shanghai City, pass rate of homewear stood at 66.7 percent while it is 70 percent for the socks. For wool knitwear, the pass rate is 90 percent.

These rates, showing quality sampling results of socks, wool knitwear and other products, were announced by Consumer Protection Commission of Shanghai City.

As per its report, confusing labels of fiber content, use of toxic and decomposable aromatic amine dyes are the main reasons for product failures.

Confusing labels of fiber content is a common phenomenon in textile sector while decomposable aromatic amine dyes causes human disease as they are toxic and harmful to humans. They can lead to human disease and even cause cancer after being absorbed by human skin.

Besides, failure of color fastness too contributes in sample failures and some products failed due to color fastness.
