Jockey staycool line now for Canadian market

Jockey Canada Company wants people to wear cool underwear. Literally. Jockey is introducing the Jockey staycool line of undergarments to the Canadian market – innovative underwear for men and women that regulates skin temperature up to three degrees ferinheight, helping to keep bodies cool and comfortable all day long.

"What's great about staycool is that it feels so natural against your body; not too loose or too tight. It just fits, you go about your day and you're comfortable," said Tim Tebow, quarterback for the NFL's Denver Broncos and Jockey staycool spokesperson.

Jockey staycool incorporates a patented Outlast technology treatment that uses phase change materials (PCMs) to absorb, store and release excess heat and maintain optimal external body temperature. Cotton fibre is treated with Outlast, creating an invisible microclimate of comfort between the skin and garment.

"Since the first pair of Jockey briefs hit the shelves in 1934, Jockey has been a leader in the innovation of comfortable and functional undergarments," said Theresa Walsh, Director of Merchandise, Jockey Canada Company. "Jockey staycool is the next level in undergarments."

Jockey is the first company to market both women's and men's underwear treated with Outlast technology to the North American market. The Outlast technology was originally developed for NASA to help balance temperature fluctuations in space and keep astronauts comfortable.

"And if it's cool enough for astronauts, it's cool enough for me," said Tebow.

Women's Jockey staycool garments are made from 95% Cotton/5% Spandex and men's are 100% cotton. Available for purchase at The Bay and Sears, the Jockey staycool line currently includes:

• For Women: Reversible Crew Neck to V-Neck T-Shirt/Reversible Crew Neck to V-Neck Tank Top/Bikini/Modern Brief
• The Hi-Cut will be launch fall 2011
• For Men: Crew Neck T-Shirt/V-Neck T-Shirt/Boxer Brief/Athletic Midway Brief
• The Low Rise Brief will launch fall 2011

The Jockey staycool feeling

In blind touch tests, the majority of those asked to identify the Jockey staycool t-shirt did so successfully, concluding that the Jockey staycool t-shirt literally felt cooler to the touch!

The "feeling" of Jockey staycool is otherwise more subtle: The soft, cotton garments wear no different than other high quality cotton underwear, but the built-in technology means that they're working to keep you cool and more comfortable—something wearers notice and appreciate.

Outlast is a worldwide pioneer in developing temperature-regulation technology and Outlast technology has been used successfully in apparel, footwear, bedding, medical product and industrial applications. Outlast technology was inducted into the Space Hall of Fame in 2005 and is the only Space Certified Technology in the apparel market.
