Nielsen ties up with Profitero to aid CPG Brands

Global performance management company Nielsen and Profitero (the e-commerce analytics company that monitors what shoppers see and buy online), announced a strategic alliance on Thursday to provide Profitero's Digital Shelf 360 suite to Consumer Packaged Goods companies.

Nielsen forged the alliance as it embarks on the path of Total Consumer measurement, and advances towards their much anticipated e-commerce measurement solution scheduled to be released later this year, they are committed to providing clients a view of their e-commerce channel today.

Profitero monitors the digital shelf and helps brands grow sales and increase or maintain market share. Expanding Nielsen's e-commerce measurement capabilities, this latest announcement marks the availability of Profitero's Digital Shelf 360 solutions for Nielsen clients. Together, Nielsen and Profitero allow Consumer Packaged Goods companies (which includes apparel) to correlate online performance with actual sales data, Nielsen said in a press release.

Nielsen has formed an alliance with Profitero due to its advanced technology, global coverage and multiple offerings in this space. Profitero's coverage spans over 300 million products on 4,000 websites in over 40 countries every day, delivering a holistic digital shelf solution that evaluates all e-commerce performance drivers including price, promotion, assortment, search position, product content, ratings and reviews to uncover and help clients capitalize on e-commerce opportunities.
