Supplier of zippers, apparel fasteners, trim and stretch technology products, Talon International has become a Bluesign system partner.

The Bluesign system is an initiative which works with chemical suppliers, textile mills and component manufacturers to eliminate harmful substances from the supply chain and sets and controls standards.

This helps ensure that final products meet stringent consumer safety requirements worldwide and also provides confidence to consumers that they are acquiring sustainable products.

“By becoming a Bluesign partner, we are joining a network of brands and manufacturers who are interested in reducing use of harmful chemicals and their impact on the environment,” Talon said.

Switzerland based Bluesign Technologies, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safer for the environment, workers and end customers.

Textile manufacturers that become Bluesign system partners, agree at the outset to establish management systems for improving environmental performance in five key areas of the production process.

These include; resource productivity, consumer safety, water emissions, air emissions, and occupational health and safety.

Larry Dyne, Talon's CEO said, "Talon is one of only a handful of zipper manufacturers and trims suppliers in the world to become a Bluesign system partner.”

“This is a significant achievement for us, as the Bluesign certification covers a wide range of our core products including zippers, heat seals, metal hardware, and woven and printed labels and tapes," he added. (AR)
