UL launches mobile app for children's apparel industry

UL, a global independent safety science company with more than a century of expertise innovating safety solutions from the public adoption of electricity to new breakthroughs in sustainability, renewable energy and nanotechnology, has developed a mobile application, UL ChildAware, specifically designed for the children's apparel industry.

The application has been designed with retailers, brands, manufacturers, and suppliers' needs in mind in order to help them adhere to new standards and changing regulations for children's apparel. UL ChildAware provides practical and verified information on regulations in the EU and the US that reduces the complexity of regulatory and compliance issues.

UL ChildAware offers user-friendly access to features like news and alerts to support informed business decisions and access global markets that keeps clients up to date and informed , Ask the Expert: UL ChildAware offers safety advice and resource relating to children's apparel addressing each manufacturer or retailer's specific situation , Visual Library: UL ChildAware has a comprehensive image bank at your fingertips demonstrating compliant and non-compliant designs, and Regulatory Compliance: helps identify or refine information through the following categories – sleepwear, daywear, undergarments, footwear, and costumes.

Natale Consonni, vice president and general manager for UL consumer and retail services said, “UL is deeply aware of the importance of regulatory compliance to a product entering and staying in the market and as such we are developing the tools critical to smarter supply chain management and leveraging technology for identifying product risk.”
