A national seminar organised by the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) on December 18, has been postponed. The seminar was cancelled as the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP); Mr Shahid Kardar was not available, as he had to go for an urgent meeting, revealed, Vice-Chairman of APTMA, Mr Shahzad Ali Khan.
Mr Shahid Kardar was supposed to chair the seminar with Mr Razzak Dawood, former Minister for Commerce, Mr Sartaj Aziz, former Minister for Finance, Waqar Malik, CEO ICI Pakistan and Mr Sultan Chawla, President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) to give the key note addresses.
The seminar was titled 'Implications of high interest rate regime on industrialization'. Speaking exclusively to fibre2fashion, Mr Khan said, “The new date has not been finalized yet, but it would be soon conducted in the next 10 days. The seminar had been organised to discuss the impact of higher markup rates to the textile industry”.
