Brandix Lanka Ltd, Sri Lanka's largest apparel exporter, will be investing US$ 14 million in a garment producing unit to be based in Bangladesh's Comilla export processing zone.
Brandix Apparel Bangladesh Limited's Managing Director, Ajit Joseph Johnpillai and Bangladesh export promotion zone agency's Md Moyjuddin Ahmed recently signed a deal in this respect.
The new unit is expected to create around 2,377 new job opportunities.
In addition to this, the Brandix Group, which is a private entity, has started the process to get its partnered knitting mill, Textured Jersey Lanka listed in Sri Lanka's Colombo Stock Exchange.
Besides, the Group even has its investments in India where it owns and operates Brandix India Apparel City, a 1,000 acre industrial estate in Visakhapatnam located in the eastern coastal region of Andhra Pradesh.
