Lion Capital signs agreement to buy La Senza

Lion Capital LLP has signed definitive documentation to acquire La Senza Ltd, the UK and European owner of the La Senza brand and a leading specialty retailer of women's lingerie and nightwear. The transaction will be completed by the end of next week.
Headquartered in London, La Senza is a leading retailer of bras, matching briefs, nightwear and bra accessories. Its network of retail outlets has grown from 40 in 1998 to 118 today, consisting of 98 directly-owned stores and concessions in the United Kingdom, 9 in Ireland and 11 franchises in six countries across Europe. It is the largest, independent retailer in the UK focused on the lingerie market.
La Senza strives to provide its customers with a unique shopping experience by offering an affordable, but high quality, lingerie product in a beautiful and intimate environment supported by award-winning customer service. In its most recent fiscal year, La Senza generated £94 million of turnover, and it has grown turnover at 13% per annum over the last three years. It employs over 1,800 people in the UK and Ireland.
